Studies in German Contemporary Disillusionment October 2018, Turku
I met Theresa and Sara in front of Turku's filthiest and most dangerous hipster hole, Dynamo. They are from Germany and in Turku for three months, interning in the notorious Nordic fashion industry. I was coming from Baari and after a lenghty chat we decided to return there.
Sara, a hamburger, was interested in the social security system and, especially, what are the things Finns do not like about Germans.
It turns out they are interning for free, very much like I did in Wittenberg.
However, they are paying rent to their boss, whom they describe to me. She sounds like a total femdog, this confirms my 100% accurate views on the fashion industry.
Sara turned out to be quite a metalhead, at least while All Rise was playing.
Theresa deep in thought. She seemed to get sadder the longer the evening went on.
I don't usually use split toning but here it created a nice film colors without looking pretentious.
"We are the only foreigners here - represent!" Sara and Therry found it amusing that Finnish crazy partying on gigs consists mostly of standing stoicly still. They weren't around when RIESA was performing to a couple of insane pogoers.
The high price of alcohol, caused by tax mandated to run the welfare state system, drives Theresa to hard spirits - this time shots of tequila.
Weltschmertz. Is this it? Is this the part I am to play on the stage of life? Why am I being discriminated against by most of the Finnish people I meet?
I like this one very much. It has the feeling of a stolen moment and Theresa's expression speaks volumes.
Sara looks at the pictures of different artists on the toilet alley.

In Germany the Smashing Pumpkins are still a thing and Sara is a superfan. The guy doesn't know pumpkins are smashing.
Kate Winslet also came to see the Turku Band Marathon.
It was time to get some fresh air. Unfortunately being discriminated against made Sara turn to heavy smoking to numb the pain and warm her insides in the frigid Finnish autumn.
A guy from Sysi & Savi chatted with us for a while, wondering about the Smashing Pumpkins phenomenon.
An international conflict between friendly Germany and hostile Finland.
LoL! I am happy you won't see tomorrow!
Beard arrived and Swizerlanded the situation. He was also one of three non-hostile Finns Theresa and Sara met that night.
Sometimes in Finland there are hugs.
Scissors told us he will hang himself after the photo is taken. Good and honest pr for Turku!
Scissors was an asshole physically and verbally and personally I think the world is a better place without it.
Unfortunately we ended up back in Dynamo. We met another Finnish cultural ambassador. He started hitting on Sara.
We retreated to redrum upstairs where the forced cultural exchange continued. Theresa and Sara told him they were sapphic.
The ambassador tried to turn them, telling they would love some sweet dicking. Well done.
I felt it was all coming to an end. I didn't want it to but there was nothing to be done.
We were exactly where we started from.
The hardships of the night finally made Sara snap. I was already crying on the inside.
I told them to destroy the enslaving fashion industry from the inside. Yes, they said but would they?
Theresa was crying on the outside but not for long.
The last encounter was friendly but didn't lead to anything that night. Sara tells me she thinks we will meet again but after parting ways we would never ever see each other.
